Isshiki Ichigo Matcha takes its name from the Japanese phrase ichi-go ichi-e, “one time, one meeting”, a reminder that every moment is one of a kind. This ceremonial-grade matcha has a lightly fruity profile and a smooth, uplifting finish, and each small-batch release carries subtle shifts in character.
Cultivar & Taste
- Origin: first-harvest Okumidori blend from Uji, Kyoto, Japan
- Flavor: high natural sweetness, gentle umami, pronounced aroma and almost no bitterness
- Best for: traditional whisked matcha (usucha), iced matcha or a matcha latte
How to Prepare
Sift 1–2 g (about ½ tsp) of matcha into a bowl, add 70 ml (2.5 oz) of water at 170–175°F, and whisk briskly in a zigzag motion with a bamboo chasen for 15–20 seconds until frothy. For a latte, top with 6–8 oz of steamed or iced milk. Store sealed in the refrigerator after opening.
